Board of Directors Ethics Training Certificates
California law (referred to as “AB 1234″ after the law that created it) requires local officials to receive training on public service ethics laws and principles every two years. It also requires special District to set policies that specify the kinds of activities that will be reimbursable as well as other requirements related to reimbursements.
It applies to elected or appointed officials who are compensated for their service or reimbursed for their expenses.
The purpose of this training is to alert local officials to the extensive array of laws that apply to public service, as well as the ethical obligations public servants have.
